       12v aux power

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Upon changing the voltage regulator (gauges that tell the truth
again :smilewide:) in the dash of my S3 earlier, I noticed that
the insulation of the positive cable of the aux power point had
seen better days. So I've wrapped it as best I can , but really
should replace and fuse it at the bulkhead. My question is:
where is the wire located? I could see two brown wires entering
through the bulkhead but these look to have come from the
       alternator...

       Evening,
According to my wiring diagram, the +ve aux dash socket is
powered directly from the battery side (!) of the #1 fuse under
       the steering column.
The other brown wire is a spur for power to the light switch.
       Cheers,
       Mark,

That socket scares me, straight from the battery and no fuse.
Every land rover where I have seen behind the dash the wire has
       started to lose its insulation.
Mine now has new wire and a fuse
