This is an age old question that probably been ask before but I
cant find the answer I need.
The flywheel I have on my V8 is the road car item which is 10mm
thinner than the Land Rover fitment.
Land Rover on left, road car on right.

Although the engine/box has been used before together it had
been bodged with a 10mm spacer rattling around on the input
shaft between the clutch release mechanism and the pressure
       plate.
Pic shows clutch release mech without the loose spacer
       previously used.

Ive found that a 9 1/2" series 2 clutch pressure plate fits both
flywheels which is 10mm thicker than the previous pressure plate
       used.

Now the issue I have is I want to use the lighter road car
flywheel and on measuring it all up even with the new thicker
pressure plate it still sits 14mm away from the clutch release
actuator at rest, with the Land Rover flywheel it sits 4mm.
I can see the clutch release with move out enough to take up the
distance but it is now over half way through its total travel at
       this point.
Anyone using one setup like this?? Any problems??
