       Evening all.
Well, I'm a total newcomer to the world of Land Rovers. Bit of
a long winded story... so here goes!
My Dad fancies another motor to add to his collection, but he
wants a back up for our tired and ailing modern runarounds, but
something that's a bit of fun, practical and useful. I've always
hankered after a series Landy. Now Dad's started looking he's
       even keener than me.
I will probably ask stupid questions, please be gentle!
       Pete.

Hello. Be warned they are highly addictive.
Don't buy the first one you see, and have a look through the
members motors section at some of the rebuild threads, that will
give you a good idea of trouble spots to look for.

       Hello and welcome etc
Asking stupid question's is how you learn
There are plenty of people on here that will answer them and
point you in the right direction
Better to ask the stupid question than just guess and waste
money by doing it the wrong way
       Prof.....

All agreed so far. Chassis, bulkhead. Keep saying that ,over and
       over again.
       Rot is the killer!
After that rant bud, welcome to the farm. :smilewide:

Welcome along dude, stupid questions go with series motor
ownership as not everything about them is sensible, but they are
       addictive and fun to own.

Welcome. If you want one to look at "warts and all" give me a
shout (assuming Woodcote means you are the one between Reading
and Walli). I'm in Tilehurst most of the time, and if your Dad
needs convincing, then there's always a spare seat or two
available for a jaunt over the downs.

       Well folks, we've done it.
Picked up from South London and driven back home.
1965 Series 2a. SWB with estate rear end. Good chassis and
bulkhead, average mechanicals and insides. A nice straight,
       honest motor.
The bug has bitten, the wallets are groaning in anticipation...
       here we go!!!
Cheers for the welcome chaps, I've a feeling I'm going to be
       around here a fair bit!
       Pete.
