Converting Ducellier distributor to electronic ignition

Hi all,
As per the title, I was in the middle of converting my
distributor to electronic, and had removed the points. It looks
like the vacuum advance intrudes on the trigger ring.
Does this mean that I have to remove the vacuum advance? If
yes, how do I do this, and do I have to blank anything off?
Probably a simple question, but I must confess that I'm a bit of
a noob.. :)

When I had the series 3 I had little joy converting the
ducillier unit to electronic. In the end I purchased a lucas
45D4 distributor and electronic module for just over 30 quid
from MM 4x4.
This was a few years ago, so prices probably higher now, and
probably stocked elsewhere, but MM are local to me.
I intend to use the very same setup on the 2A I currently have.

The vendor has agreed to take back the electronic unit for the
Ducellior and if I supply the difference, he'll provide a new
Lucas. This works as I have an electronic kit for a Lucas!!

vac advance shouldnt touch anything. the ring sits neatly over
the cam & the sensor gubbins sits on the same plate that is
moved by the vac advance

Agreed, I hardly know what any of those things you mention are
and I converted my Ducellior using the powerspark from here:
HTML http://www.simonbbc.com/
It essentially just dropped right in,
I'm sure I've got pics of the process somewhere (so I could
reverse any mistakes) let me have a look around.

I'll try and get a pic at the weekend, but it looks like the vac
advance is stopping the ring sitting on the cam...

That's what I did, my Ducellier had a worn shaft so I just got

I bought, but never got around to fitting a transistorised
points replacement kit for the Ducellier on mine, from SimonBBC.
I think it came from an Ebay shop

With any luck the Lucas copy will be here by the weekend.
Where I took the points out of the Ducellior and removed
something else that was screwed down - well i put it all back
together, and now it won't start. Meh
