Series 3 owner in Dorset

Merry Christmas all,
After years of wanting a Land Rover Series 3, earlier this year
I finally bought a 1982 County Station Wagon 88 in Russet Brown.
Due to working away from home, she only gets used maybe twice
a month - and at the moment he's kept outside. I'm hoping to
get a side opening garage door fitted so I can park her out of
the elements.
The chassis has had repairs over the years, and there is rust.
I need new front doors; but have purchased Rocky Mountain door
tops. She is very original: ie every pane of glass has the reg
number.
The speedo has 35k miles on (yes it still works :)) And the fact
that it was sorn'd for about 10 years means it could be correct.
I must say that she is a joy to drive: the brakes are great (but
very fully overhauled by the previous owner, the steering is
good, and even the gearbox slots home with a rifle bolt feel to
it (no I'm not drunk rofl) I know it has synchromesh but I
double de-clutch anyway . My only experience of an S3 was a
2.23 diesel that a friend had when I was 18. It was brief but I
caught the bug.
Intentions are to keep it and perhaps stick a galvanised chassis
and bulkhead on, but that's for another day. I won;t be putting
a 200tdi lump in, but may put a Turner gasflowed head, and
overdrive on. I would like to tour Europe and Africa perhaps
one day.
I will upload some pics of my steed, once I can figure out how
to :lousyputer:
