Series 3 Routing Brake Pipes and Wiring loom
       By: D4B Date: November 24, 2015, 2:35 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hi All,
Looking for some advice on how the brake pipes and wiring loom,
particularly towards the rear were originally routed?
As my original chassis was cut up and disposed of, I have little
       or nothing to go on.
eg: Was the wiring loom to the rear passed inside the drivers
side chassis or clipped to the outside (inner most) of it?
Any advice, photos of yours very much appreciated.
       Thanks Steve

Wiring loom travels inside the RH main chassisrail. For that
there are 2 biggisch holes in the top and has the loom 2 big
rubber grommets to protect them where the pass the metal.
Getting the loom through is a matter of patience and a pulling
wire that you need to get through 1st..
IIRC the brakepipe goes on top in plastic clips.

       Thanks Arjan,
that confirmed my suspicions, a previous owner had the loom
hanging on cable ties which were screwed to the outside of the
       chassis
       :banghead
Will go and look later today :)

I wrapped my loom in spy wrap for extra protection against
       chaffing.

I reckon loom in chassis is a bonkers idea..I've always run 'em
under tub for access, then you can see it's condition and what's
       going on with it.
..not so relevant to a galv chassis I know, but for those
needing to do any welding, it's a proper pain having a load of
wires in the chassis to set light to..Stupid idea Land Rover.

Agreed, didn't occur to me until you mentioned it,
oh well hopefully it ain't gonna need any welding for a wee
       while now :rolleye0012:
