Series 3 Dash question

Hi All,
Is there supposed to be a badge or something here in the centre
of the Series 3 dash?
Nothing shown in my parts book...........

No badge.
You can add some clocks/dials if you wish.
There should, I think, be a dust cover behind it to hide the
backs of said clocks.

So was it an option from new to have extra genuine Land Rover
approved gauges?

yessir. ammeter, volt meter, oil pressure were available of the
smiths persuasion

If you feel at the back you will find the holes ready to be cut
out...and std sized instruments fit.

Mine has nothing their either, though there is the cover behind
it to cover the back of anything you fitted in there.
I don't even have any switches above it like that picture.
But mine is an early (1972) series 3 and was originally a truck
cab, so the lowest of the low utilitarian spec when it came out
of Solihull.
