MCD 617 TDI 80"

Hi
This is my 80" MCD 617 I am currently re-building it with tdi,
high ratio transfer box, full synchro main box, later steering
box and 300tdi turbo. When its done it will be used for laning,
trialing and general nobbing about!! ;)

Trying to keep the 80 charm but make it able to live with modern
traffic and be reliable ideally when its done it will look to
the casual observer as a nice standard 80"

Yeah ally bulkhead which was luckily all in good order when
purchased!!

Good work coming along there was the ali bulkhead a home made
affair or was it actually a 'proper' part at the time?

ally bulkheads were genuine parts and used quite a bit, dont
know how true it is but have been told they were used when the
press for stamping the tunnel out on steel bulkheads was broken,
it gives you a fair amount more room in the engine bay
apparently quite good when fitting v8's.
