Model correction on MOT print out / database

Does anyone know if it possible to correct / what the procedure
is / for correcting a problem on the MOT database? My Series 2A
is listed as being first used in 1964 and is road tax exempt.
However, whenever I have an MOT the printout lists the model as
being a boingy (9O) which causes confusion and is just plain
wrong. If memory serves the 9O wasn't produced until around
1983 and has coil suspension so clearly whenever the MOT went
from the traditional certificates to online + A4 printout 9O was
typed in instead of 88 and it has dogged my records ever since.
It doesn't appear on the V5 so sending that back for correction
isn't possible.
When I first bought the vehicle the V5 had the engine capacity
as being 99999 cc !!! for reasons I cannot fathom - although
that was easy to set straight.
My main concern is that if I ever wanted to sell the vehicle
that the disparity in models might appear 'dodgy' to a potential
buyer now that MOT history can be checked online, especially as
she is tax exempt and therefore the sort of vehicle chancers do
often try to pass off as older than they actually are.
EDIT ... this might have been better posted in general Land
Rover stuff - I was vair vair vair drunk at the time of
posting. :)

that sounds odd. Maybe give Swansea a ring and have a chat. If
the V5 has the correct info the maybe the MOT database just
needs altering

When you bought your truck did the seller have the V5 log book?
Or was it missing and you had to send off for it? The reason I
ask is some times log books get sold off to people for the reg
plate or to mask a stolen vehicle, there well may be a Land
Rover 90 running round tax exempt with the same reg plate as you
and they might have a V5 in their name!!!
Only get in touch with the DVLA if you can prove the Land Rover
you have is the correct one 100% for the V5 you have, main being
an original chassis number stamped where it should be, and the
rest of the wagon matching up.. Otherwise you maybe opening a
real can of worms for your self :banghead

This is the answer to your question - as the vehicle model isn't
listed (most series are not until the latter series 3s where '88
- 4 CYL' etc is show) the MOT tester selects what he/she thinks
is the most appropriate model at the time of test. There is no
'MOT database' as you put it. The solution is simple, take it to
an MOT tester who knows how to use the system properly. It's
laziness on the part of the tester. I've lost track of the wierd
and wonderful models I've had shown on test certificates over
the years. Don't worry about it.

I should add, whatever you do [b]DO NOT TALK TO THE DVLA ABOUT
ANYTHING[/b]. You risk getting the SH><. cunt confused who'll
potentially, through pure stupidity, start a process you can't
stop. SVA etc. It's happened before and it'll happen again.
Leave well alone.

i'm 73.82% sure that the actual MOT tester can do it.
p.s if its helpful, one-ten launched geneva march 1983, ninety
was launched June 1984.
series 3 production continued into 1985. (and they were still
out selling the new 110 lol !)

I never knew it was up to the tester. Glad mine is a land rover
guy who knows his stuff.

Thanks for all the info. It DID come with the V5 - I didn't
have to send off for it. Also I paid for one of those VIN check
thingies prior to buying.
I'll see if I can get the next MOT tester to enter the correct
details instead of just blindly copying what's on the system
next time it's tested.
