I made a longer lever for my overdrive Darren, to make
simultaneous shifts easier. The one you get with a Roverdrive is
longer anyway and needs bending to suit RHD applications. I'll
try and get a picture.

Albert Ross has a gearlever off a LHD model (I think) in his 109
which allows you to do that movement with the overdrive in one
go, i remember him showing me at leafers

I use mine as a splitter box especially when towing. I don't
have hills here in the Fens but when I do go further afield to
get a hill fix the ability to split the gear ratios is very
handy. I too use one hand to change main gears and OD.

I used my overdrive as a splitter all the time. No need to move
2 levers individually. Simply grasp the main gear lever and
overdrive with 1 hand and split 4th down to 3rd O/D in a single
movement. It is nice to use.[/quote]
I've done that with Faireys - no problem. Can't say I've been
successful with the Roverdrive, it needs far more force than the
Fairey to engage/disengage.
