I battled for ages (in various intervals over 2 days in all !!)
with these handbrake return springs :smiley-furious:
Finally, after some help from this forum, I did it the easy way
and removed the drive flange!

bit of boring trivia for you, i was jsut knee deep in the
customer services section of halfords website looking for the
MSDS for halfords classic 20w50. after opening the pdf i found
its made by COMMA, they also have their own classic 20w50 in
identical vintage metal can (different branding and images of
course)
seems to be about a fiver cheaper which is cool

Hi DarrenH,
Yes and I proved this to myself, as when I needed a little extra
oil, the Halfords screwdriver promotion had finished,
so I went to my local factors and bought a tin of Comma Classic
20W50 and as you pour it out it is the same green
colour too 8)

VERY interesting! I use the Halfords oil quite a lot in my
Landies.
Another tip for you - Halfords lamps/bulbs are made by RING.
Found that one out when I had to take a couple of uprated ones
back when they blew with a week of being fitted...

I think green oil is made by duckhams or so I've been told by
one of the mechanics in work

Yes Duckhams oil as I remember it is (or at least was) green.
But it seems that Comma / Halfords and I suspect probably
Unipart have seen it as a nostalgic idea for their 20W50 too
:bleurgh
