that will be going in my station wagon :smilewide: the 109 will
be the workhorse for so a bit more pulling power etc for towing
will be needed

Fair play so.
Go 2.5 n'a. My 109 with that will tow most things, no bother.

he said MORE pullng power, your suggestion is the same pulling
power but with slightly less terrible fuel consumption :D

OOoooo... Bollox...
Got the drivers side wing off today to see what the bulkhead
was really like. Why do people spend so much time with filler
when it would be quicker and safer to weld metal in. It's a good
filling job that must of been done a while ago. Here's a few
pictures..

Had another good look at the chassis. Here's a quick look at
part of it.

So... a plan is forming. I think i will be sorting the station
wagon (it has a good chassis), using parts from each to make a
good one. The bulkhead on the wagon needs work as well so i will
fix that in situ. LPG and overdrive will be moved into the
wagon, maybe wings, dash, wheels. Luckily i have the space to
store landy Jane until such time as i can re-chassis her and put
a tdi into her. So this thread will be put on hold until the
Wagon is done. Wish me luck

Good luck with it Jonny.......... I feel your pain as I have
been there, and am still in the rebuild process that resulted!
I can see that your bulkhead also has lots of corrosion under
the screen, just like mine did.
Not a problem, it's an opportunity for yet more tinkering time

cheers D. At least these days there are some good repair panels
out there. Think i will get them ordered tomorrow and get
cracking with the bulkhead. Also need a dumb iron for the wagon.

Guess what i have planed for the next week.. bulkhead repair
panels and window top came from SP Land rovers. Good guys, good
price, good quality and good service. Not far from me either
which is handy. They also have a few old land rovers living in
undergrowth, one being a swb county station that he wont sell
:(

I bought bulkhead repair door posts and feet from SP 4x4 too,
but when I decided to let Ashtree repair my bulkhead, I gave the
parts to them
to use in the repair, and they said the quality was excellent.
Also gave me some money off in compensation.....
Gonna be a busy week ;D
