I just hope the weather improves. I don't have anywhere indoors
these days so can only work on him when it's OK outside

Perhaps if it's an original outrigger, it would be worth
repairing rather than replacing?
Great progress, lots to do 8)

It's a lot worse than it looks in the photo, really thin as
well. I think welding will result in me chasing holes around the
outrigger

Why would you want to seam weld the cross member to the chassis,
seems like a waste of time if you can just do it like this..!!
[URL=
HTML http://s653.photobucket.com/user/delamere-riders/media/ernie/IMG_0012%202.jpg.html]

So, chassis is useable but needs a good going over and welding
done then can be cleaned and rust treated before painting and
waxing. Fuel tank seems ok but again will need a good clean and
paint. Next job is to pull the engine and box then weld up the
bulkhead. All going to plan so far :smilewide:
I do love the way it had a new exhaust for it's last MOT in
April of this year. Obviously the rest of it was perfect
:wanker:

I suppose that's what happens when you replace the rear cross
member with the rear tub in situ....
Typical MOT welding repair, though at least the did weld some of
it
Great progress 8)

Hi.
That plate looks like a number plate from the early 1960s ...
some counties used the reversed system until 1964. But nowhere
in UK issued registrations with the numeric part starting with a
zero.
You cab find it's FULL MOT history, back to about 2006 by
