What were the original colours that came out of the factory on
series vehicles? More specifically was the radiant-red used on
Fords ever used on Land Rovers around 1967? If no what was the
closest?

As far as I'm aware the factory Land Rover series reds were
'poppy' and 'masai'. Other than special order colours for fire
engines.
<edit>
For 1967 it was only 'poppy' that was available - 'masai' didn't
come until later. The paint code is LRC.CMK or LRC.010.

Great! below is the poppy red. Seems very close to the radiant
red from ford (which mine is painted)
The classic vehicles board shouldn't find a problem since it is
a colour of the same era..

Reds are notorious for fading either way, lighter to a
pink/orange or darker to a cherry, especially if it's not a 2
pack paint finish. You could always tell them it was poppy red
when painted. :rolleye0012:

I found this pic on the web many years ago, its still one of my
favourites. A Series 2 in Poppy Red - after several decades in
the South American sunshine. Now thats a patina to die for

Masai Red (along with others) only came into use around
1978(ish) IIRC ?
