All this has made me suddenly enthusiastic about "manning up"
::) and getting out there tomorrow and doin a bit. Coupled to
the fact that I have convinced myself that the misfire is not
down to the head or the gasket and will turn out to be something
like valve clearances or ? :-\
The weather forecast is okay so stick on your long johns and in
my case a rather snazzy pair of House of Roi overalls ;)
Lets get to work :D

Perhaps everyone who Mans up, and gets outside tomorrow should
post a pic of Saturdays' work in progress.
That'll provide some motivation.
I'll make sure I have my camera ready tomorrow, as I have a full
days crawling around in the garage and drive planned.

half of todays little effort, all track rods removed, one swivel
stripped and removed, other hub and bits removed (after digging
all the mud off the bolts)

Well today has been spent outside and in the garage working on
SKB.
I have managed to set up pedal height and bleed the clutch.
Followed by setting up the brake pedal , connecting the last of
the brake lines and then bleeding the brakes.
I'm going to leave the brakes overnight now to check for any
weeping joints in the morning, but I seem to have a pretty good
pedal already, so if all is well in the morning then a small
adjustment of the shoes should give me a reliable brake pedal.
Then I set about setting up the steering, all new rods and ends,
so I have spent an hour getting the toe in correct, measured
three times and sitting nicely at 1.8mm, before I tightened
everything up. Steering wheel is centered nicely, and drag link
adjusted correctly. It seems to turn nice and smooth now.
Tomorrows jobs are to finish fitting the fuel tank, check and
adjust the brake shoes, and refit the radiator.
Just got to change the head for a nice refurbed one in the next
couple of weeks and I should have the thing running again for
the first time in 2 1/4 years. Then there is a bit of bodywork
to finish off and some paint, and hopefully on schedule for an
April/May finish.
