Well, ive manned the fuck up, and sanded the doors down, and the
SW sides, also removed the last of the paint from the external
bit of the front panel, ready for etch priming.

I did my major rebuild over the winter of 2006/7. We didn't have
a lot of snow but there were quite a few days where the ground
was frozen solid and the garage was freezing. I ended up with a
collosal electricity bill from using ceramic heaters to stop my
paint blooming in the cold and damp. (You only need to turn them
off whilst you are actually spraying).
I finished it in early March 2007 when the weather was quite
nice so took it for test drives with no roof, doortops etc. You
have to look forward to something to make it worth the suffering
now - no pain no topless motoring!

I've got a couple of 1200w heaters to keep the chill off when
I'm working in the garage.
When it's wet, I rig up a tarp from the door to my other landy.
Not much space in the garage, so have to have the door open, but
with plenty of layers on I keep toasty warm.
At least this year we aren't having the -13 freezing mornings,
so in the last 3 weeks I've been much more inclined to get
outside.

you've a big back garden Simon and relatively easy access,
surely ya missus wouldn't notice another shed going up ::)

Well , she did toy with the idea of removing the greenhouse, and
putting something called a "garden room" down there.
I said no, so definitely can't squeeze another shed in at the
moment. :)

I find driving the thing daily keeps me motivated, if not
enthusiastic - it has a way of ensuring essential maintenance
gets done, but unfortuantely then it does tend to keep producing
motivational aids at slightly too regular intervals.
Don't ask about the clutch and the weekend is snowed last
month... I was less than happy.

That clutch change... you mean the one where the 'shed of a
motor that always breaks down' rescued bitsa(again) and wills
88? and was the only one that started and moved under its own
power... ;D :P

looks like you slipped up there, a "garden room" could have been
your engine/gearbox/axles rebuild space ;) never know what you
might have managed to squeeze in there once she had got used to
the idea ;D

I rechassied my 88 last winter. i ended up at points having to
dig for parts in the snow (Mr Gadget will vouch for how cold it
was as he helped :) ) Was -7 some nights whilst I was out under
the truck, but had to get her done for the crimbo do.
2' of snow makes life interesting.
Somewhere in there is the disco rad and intercooler I'd taken
apart so i could alter the frame to fit the 88"
