       Insurance
       By: Dan H Date: July 9, 2015, 4:04 am

I'm needing to sort my insurance so I can pick up my motor
tomorrow, but who to use? Any recommendations for classic
insurance. It wont be my main vehicle and I dont have any no
claims bonus I can use as thats on my daily driver. They need to
be sympathetic to mods too as it has a TD from a boingy in it.

Was with Lancaster but they got silly dear,so went to Carol Nash
who is a specialist I have used many times .
At least I found CN easier to talk with, they didn't seem to have
a load of stupid rules which were set in stone.
Also , because I now have two Landie, they said we could come to
an arrangement to put my other one on one policy when number
two's came up for renewal. dogwalk

I got the 109 station wagon down to £63, fully comp with no NCD
through Adrian Flux providing I downseated it from 12 to 7.
Lancaster are better with mods, my self-installed LPG'd 88 with
2.5 petrol has come through as £106.55 at renewal - Flux wanted
       £138.

I've gone with Adrien Flux at £133, I couldn't be arsed ringing
around anymore to try and get it cheaper.

Adrian Flux are open to "negotiation"
At my renewal a few weeks ago, I simply tried Compare the market
.com and it gave me a quote of £72
So I phones AF and told them this, and which company was
offering that and they agreed my renewal for £70. that's fully
comp 5000 miles per year (not that I do anything like that in
       the LR)

       Hi,
Would you believe that Liverpool Victoria offered to insure my
1959 LWB for £80? Same fully comp cover as our other cars ...
foreign travel, drive any other car, etc, but two restrictions -
limited to 5000 miles per year and must be garaged. As I don't
have a garage (yet) I had to choose between paying for a
standard policy (£160), or going with F&J (£120). I chose the
       cheaper option.
F&J would have dropped the premium to £55 if I'd chosen to
       restrict annual mileage to 1,500.

I went with Adrian Flux. £109 fully comp 1969 LWB with all mods
declared. Also zero no claims as it's all used of other cars.
