Hi from Yorkshire

Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself before asking loads
of questions lol
I've currently got a Disco 300Tdi but have previously had (in no
particular order) -
- a 110 2.5 petrol which I converted to a V8 from a Rover SD1
- a 110 2.5NA ex Army
- a 90 2.5TD (with the infamous 19J engine)
- a Disco 2 Td5
- a project (ex trials) 1960 Series II SWB which was sadly
abandoned a few years ago due to financial issues. It still
lives and was converted to a 300Tdi by the subsequent owner
- and finally, I also had a 1973 Series III SWB 2.25D Safari
which I bought to provide a decent body for the S2. I really
regretted selling this old girl, she was completely original and
a beaut :(
Which leads me to why I've just registered - I'll be getting a
2.25 petrol 109 soon, so I'll be after some advice, tips and no
doubt encouragement through the dark times - I'm under no
illusion that its going to be a painfree experience lol

Thanks for the welcome - and the edits to the OP lol
Not Sheffield based, although I work there - I'm in Donny. I
think I used to see your 109 near Wheatley Hall Road sometimes
Albert Ross - not seen it for a few years now though. You still
got it?

Of course, in daily use the last 7 years. I still terrorise
motorists twice a day.... :rolleye0012:

Well, after being beaten in a few auctions I decided to be more
proactive, and it worked :) I now have a good looking 1981 109
2.25P 10 seater ! No MoT and needs work on the bulkhead, but not
a rotten scrapper according to the seller. Chassis has been
patched previously and so should only require minor patching
this time. Bulkhead needs legs and patches around vents (might
get it professionally repaired and galvanised). No electrical or
mechanical issues and is all original - engine, gearbox, axles
etc. Also fitted with working overdrive, FWH and LPG!

Delighted with this find, just hoping that its as decent as he
says - but I need to go up to Edinburgh to collect it :) I guess
thats why it was cheap - most people won't travel that far
whereas I'll travel the length/breadth of the country for the
right one :D My daily driver car came from Deal near Dover - I'm
in Yorkshire remember!
I'm expecting it to need quite a bit of work to be honest - at
least a body off check over, engine recon, axles rebuilt etc, so
it should be back on the road next Spring. The target date is
next April as we're planning on a trip around Ireland with the
local Landy club, followed with a longer run into Europe later
in the year!
I'll post more pics in a new thread once I've collected Bank
Holiday week.

How nice!. Two of my 109" came from afar. Ipswich and
Kidderminster. With a shonky trailer and a vehicle that won't
exceed 43mph. :smilewide:
