Not done a huge amount to the S1 since painting the chassis as
Ive had to spend some time on other projects (Bike).
I have though sorted out my springs, worked out what I need to
       do(strip and clean/paint fronts) and buy(new rears).
The shocks I had looked rough as the top shrouds had rusted
through in places but they still had good damping action.
I know there cheap to buy but thought it would be worth having a
go rather than just throwing them away.
On cutting the shrouds off I could see that the damper rods had
some how survived being left standing for ten years and were in
       great condition.
With a good clean up,exhaust piping,a bit of welding and some
       paint they look respectable.

As planned, for once, all painted and waiting for new parts to
       arrive this week.
Still a few odd parts to paint but they can wait until final

Bit more done this last week or so.
I will be getting new rear leaf springs, picking them up Monday
with all the bearings, swivels and brake parts to reassemble both
axles and get it into a rolling chassis at last!
But my front springs were usable but needed a rebuild and as
I've never done this before I thought I would have a go.
First problem was opening up the metal clamp around the
       springs....first one fractured straight away.
So I decided to cut one side off and will weld them back
       together on assembly,problem solved.

Then followed a period of time covered in clouds of rust as I
removed all the **** that had built up over the years.
       Finally they all looked clean.

On with the Bonda primer which covers so well.

Before assembly I will be removing all the paint back to metal
that sits between the leaf springs and coating these areas with
a dry molybdenum disulphide paste, assemble then paint black.
After fighting with one of the spring bushes for what seemed
ages trying to get it out,I decided it was time to purchase a
       hydraulic press.
I had a 30 ton one some years ago and regretted getting rid of
       it then.
Good old ebay came up with this,6 ton press delivered to my door
for £54.95,exactly what I needed, not to big as I'm tight on room
and it works a treat :-)

Two minutes and it was out, nice to have a press again.
Off all this week coming so looking forward to assembling
everything and getting some wheels on it!
