2.5 n/a conversion

Hi All.
Am swapping from a 2.25 diesel to a later 2.5 na.
I've sorted most of the usual problems but am down to two main
issues.
The flywheel on the 2.5 has different locating dowels for the
clutch cover. (three, at 120 degree spacing) whereas the 2.25
has just 2, opposite each other.
I need to use a 2.25 friction plate, because the gearbox splines
on the main input shaft.
What the best approach to getting a clutch cover that will work?
Also. The heater tap for the block won't fit now as threads are
different. Is this something you can source?

Series 3 heater tap may fit? I know that's what I had fitted to
my 2.5. Mine was out of a Sherpa van but I can't imagine they'd
make them with different threads to the LR version.

Different clutch cover on the original 2a clutch and gearbox
compared to the 2.5 n/a. Different depth and mechanism for the
accentuation arm to work on.
:smiley-furious:

Use the 1967/8 onwards 9.5" Diesel cover and plate. It has a
centre boss in the cover, and is diaphragm sprung. Also,
regarding the heater valve threads, there is a screw in
converter available.
Plate.

Thread converter. May be too tall compared to the one you're
thinking of.

I do have a scrap head somewhere that "may" have the shorter
part in.
You don't have to buy from these guys, but the part numbers may
help your search.

Not sure we used the original flywheel or the 2.5 one... I
remember we replaced theflywheelhousing for the 2.25 one because
the 2.5 one was damaged..
Obviously, you've replaced the real crank oil seal because this
is the time :rolleye0012:

Flywheels cannot be swapped between 3 and 5 BRG engines. For it
to be a 2 dowel flywheel it will be a 3BRG.

Thanks all. Much appreciated. I'll try getting hold of that
clutch cover, and popping the engine in.
I am in Norwich, lozzaboy, so abit away from fenlandshire.
(always the optimist)
It sheered a thermostat bolt last night for good measure.
