Nice work Dave.
I'm curious about the reg number on the pup, N6171.
To me that's an FAA registration for a U.S. areoplane, but this
serial number must predate that system.

I know nothing about old planes.

Have you put tiny little motors in them for the props? or is it
some magic photoshop witchcraft? Nice work

Neither. I aimed a fan at it in order to spin the propellers.

Hi,
My remodeling faded away, when I discovered girls, cars, an then
women, in that order. I passed my driving test in 1958, got
married in 1965. In those days I used a double edged Gillette
razor blade to cut the balsa wood, and stuck bits together with
balsa cement. I believe things have moved on.
SWMBO wants me to slow down, and I have wondered about taking up
spoon whittling again. I've bought some aero-modeler mags, done
some Googling, and looked at pictures of models on this forum.
There seems to be no place for an interested beginner to go for
information and advice.
Can anyone here suggest a suitable website or forum?

Try Locate and Cement or Britmodller for a British slant on
things or Zonefive ( redneck central) for an American slant.
Lots of other forums out there and there might even be an IPMS
branch or just a plane simple model club near you.
Things are a bit slow on the forums at the momen ,probably due
to the rash of new Airfix kits that have been put out recently.
Airfix, the new ones, have really upped their game in the last
few years.

Hi Rory,
Thanks for that, I give the Google button a few clicks.

Looks like the system we both understand didn't come into being
until later -

My first thought (other than what a nice job Dave had made of
it) was why would it have a yank reg.
