       My S3 109 petrol.

       Hello all,
This is my most recent series, it is meant to be ex AA but it
has a blue engine. It's definitely not ex military but did have
a hand throttle. There are remenants of the yellow paint under
       the green.
Im not yet convinced on the chequer plate, but i am going to go
for a tekaloid gloss coat rather than matt. The cabin headlining
is certainly DIY which was fitted by the PO. Toungue and groove
flooring and squares of carpet need to be removed as well!
Positive points are that the overdrive works and the chassis and
       bulkhead are solid :)

has the middle of the dash never had anything fitted or is it a
home made replacement. Loving the antidrip roofing solution.

I think it may be a bit home made! The dual brake switch has
been taken out of the braking system and the brakes are a foot
       to the floor job :(
Been looking at the LaSalle trim kit but its bloody pricey!
Maybe the next time the missus buys some clothes I will buy it
       :)

Could be AA, but that also looks like the rather fetching shade
of yellow my Ex British Telecom "88+4.9"" wears underneath its
       current paint.

Cheers, I will research the BT channel.
It was Luton registered so there is the possibility it was for
the airport as a runway vehicle. I would be surprised ifbit
wasnt garaged somewhere for most of its life, the bulkhead, dash
and chassis are 99% rust free!

It could even be British Rail. Their Land Rovers were painted
       yellow in the 1970s/80s.

My series three was yellow, spent the first 20 years of it's
       life at Bristol airport.

I do like the yellow, still trying to research it's history. If
it does end up being something interesting then it may go back
       to it's original livery.
I am still undecided about the chequer plate myself! I think it
looks ok with the green paint but if I go back to yellow, it
       will come off.
I'll speak to Luton Airport somehow and see if they keep their
       vehicle records.
       Cheers all.
