I would like just to say hello guys, I hope i'll learn a lot
       about landrover here.
Friend of mine just start restoration of LR series 3 from 1979 -
       2.6 petrol engine.
Car was modified for fire brigade by Land Rover factory, and the
       first question is:
-Any idea of these switches? What is it for?

       Welcome.
That socket might be for a 'snatch' plug that would heat the
water tank with an immersion to stop it freezing. Plugged into
       240v mains.
I think on airfield crash trucks (tacr1) it powered an engine
heater and kept the battery topped up too.

Thanks Guys. This looks like a challenge for me.
First I will look for heating element in the engine block. To be
honest I didn even think about engine heating. I've found
somewhere the car was same or similar spec for army, fire
       brigades and/or airports service.
Do you think is possible to find wiring diagram for this baby?
