       still too warm, we only seem to be getting southerly or
       sou-westerly winds (as per norm) which are always warm and wet.
       we need the wind from any of the easterly directions to get any
       snow, but even then it has usually all fallen before the clouds
       get over here to us (although northerly winds have been known to
       drop the white stuff up on Exmoor)
