I spy with my old eyes

Whilst out on a sunday drive i spied this old girl not far for
me .

This is round the corner from me and as sat there sinc 01 maybe
longer i knocked a couple of years ago ang got the usual reply

And this one i found last week ,so being a sunday i knocked up
an met the bloke who as soon as the door opened says "it aint
for sale" so i say ive got one an he looks out at mine which
changed his mood ;D
It turns out he got given it well 70 quid changed hands ,hes a
welder and will be starting it when he gets time .he tells me
its a 1958 and was last on the rd around 98.
Now im no expert but after a quick nose it seems to be a genuine
s2 with seperate wiper motors, correct bulkhead which needs work
and if a 58 maybe an early one .
He turned out to be a nice feller ,an i told him about this ere
site an its THE only place if hes got an old leafsprung landie
,i gotta drop him my no in so watch this space .
Oh an some slag has tried to buy the plate for a grand i told
him to tell em where to go as the plate is apt to say the least

August 1958-April 1959. In the case of this one, 21/10/1958, so
6 months into production.

Blimey ,that is early he said the chassis is in good nick just
the footwells bulkhead and i think hes gonna change the wings .
He hasn't had it running but it turns over the doors have got
some old smelly carpet glued to em and look a right mess he said
hes gonna paint it nato green ! sacrilige i say ::)
