The engine and gearbox are in need of a rebuild, bulkhead and
wiring are definitely suspect. Nothing that should be terminal
though the chassis seems to be fairly solid, which for a
starting point ain't half bad I reckon. :)

After a few derailments and for shame a bit to long might as
well post a bit of an update of where I'm up to with the front
end tear down which is almost complete.
For starters wings and front panel are off. The engines are out
both out, the original and the donor 200tdi to replace it. The
floors are up gearbox, seat box out with all the usual troubles
of corroded nuts and bolts and in my case split sockets, bent
breaker bars and shredded ratchets. Then there's the variety
of... unique shall we say repairs to everything from the lower
half of the bulkhead. Painted silicone in the small holes,
riveted plates over the larger ones and where it had gone around
the rivets then no more nails over the old plates and a new one
over the top covering every bolt head in sight.

An early one with most bits still in place.

I have to give it to no more nails... wasn't going to fall off
       in a breeze.

The latest installment after the gearbox became the latest piece
on the pile of bits to be hauled into the shed for special
attention. Though the bulkhead is a bit sad in places I'm
happier to know she's moving along at last and it would seem
that the chassis (that I've seen) contains some actual metal all
       in all a winner.

       Cheers,
Tide mark indeed some decent paint work hidden underneath on the
ally bits and some galloping tin worm on the door pillars. It's
now off and safely in the scrap pile behind the shed :)
