Master brake cylinder

Can someone please confirm that for a late 1980 onward 88"
Series 3 with rationalised brakes (front= 11" drums, TLS shoes,
rear 10" drums SLS with larger wheel cylinders as fitted to the
front of earlier 88's) together with dual line system and servo
that an NRC6096 would be the correct master cylinder?
The parts book does not seem to distinguish between an 88 and
109 for this set up but lists this as the only cylinder, but on
various suppliers websites it is listed as being for the 109
V8.(which I think it was used on as well)

Reading the parts book, it does read that way
Although of the two 109's with twin line servo brakes I have (a
4 cyl and a 109 V8) they do not appear to have the same cylinder
- externally at least
Paddocks list 3 different cylinders with the OEM codes, so
probably easiest to look what you have an match them up

Surely if it has 109 fronts and the bigger cylinders on the rear
then it is the same as the normal 109 anyway?
Whatever, my current M/C, with part number NRC6096 came in a box
with labelling indicating suitability for an 88".

It won't matter which you fit...none will give you brakes that
work properly for more than a few hours and this will be
dependant on the phase of the moon ::)

"none will give you brakes that work properly" Why not ? Iv'e
run Land Rovers for 35 + years and never found them wanting. It
is usually a case of to many previous owners buggering about,
getting return springs wrong, using crap cylinders and linings.
With 11" drums up front and Mintex lined shoes my series three
stops very well. It is the inability to set them up and bleed
them correctly that makes for poor brakes. My 110 V8 is better
but not by a lot, the only time drums really fail is after
immersion in water.

Mine stop me, what annoys me is how they can be working fine one
moment then pulling one way or the other the next, then without
reason nor rhyme all is back to normal.
