I'd have to disagree. I spent ages researching the things and
after using an 18 volt £600 Snap-On jobbie I was impressed. That
got me thinking, Snap-On don't make power tools so who do they
buy in from. Turns out to be Ingersoll-Rand. A bit more research
turned up the 20 volt 7150 which is actually quite a bit more
powerful than the 18 volt Snap-On:

I got a kit from the US when I was over a couple of months back,
set me back in the region of £280 with two batteries and charger
(dual voltage so works here). For comparison, the De Walt you
linked to is quoted as 418Nm max torque. The Ingersoll-Rand is
1100 ft lb which is over 1400Nm.
The question has to be, do you want it do be able to undo stuff
you can undo by hand, just quicker or really increase what you
can do. My mindset was diff pinion nuts, front crank pulley bolt
etc. The Ingersoll-Rand is way more than I ever expected it to
be and worth every penny in my opinion.

Cheers for that.... but a tad to spensive for me !!! I would
only be wanting for wheel nut on and offing and the like
occasionally ... does look a tidy piece of kit though

I've used my friends lots of times on my Land rover rebuild and
he uses it constantly. It does everything we have needed it to
do. if you already battery's and charger I would buy the
       Dewalts.

My dislike of DeWalt comes from their desire to embrace the DIY
market in recent years and the subsequent drop in quality. At
work we have a bench piled up with maybe 10 of this type of
DeWalt cordless tool, all of which are fucked. You pays your
money and takes your choice, if you have the charger and
batteries already Glenn makes a good point. Just don't be under
any illusiion of it being professional/trade quality. :girly:

I do tend to agree with the recent lack in quality of the dewaly
stuff, arnt they a part of Black and Decker / Elu ? I remember
they used to al market the same drill in 3 diff colours

DeWalt were bought by Black & Decker in 1960 but I'm guessing
this part of the Wiki history speaks volumes: "In 2002, DeWalt
ceased all tool manufacturing in the USA and moved manufacturing
       to Mexico and China.". :-?

The DeWank drill I've got ,after a bit of robust use, now sounds
like a bag of fuckin nails rattling around, I'd give DW a
       miss...
