sorry to be asking a few questions but as you may have guessed i
am dismantling my 2a or 3 as it is seeming to be. The steering
relay is solid in the chassis, i have a worksheet for
dismantling and it is supposed to drift out the chassis upwards.
It seems that it is solid in the top fixing to the chassis. Any
ideas other than cutting it out the chassis which is scrap
       anyway.

Yes the easiest way is "cut it out of the chassis which is scrap
anyway" do not throw the relay away or the shaft even if the
seal lands are rough, new shafts are not always as good as the
old ones and have been known to snap.
Honestly if the relay body is not moving and you have tried
reasonable force just cut it out, it took me 3 weeks to shift
mine and after that the tube was fooked anyway.

use a pair of long twin leg pullers from the underside and push
       it out.

Mine was cut out with oxy-acetylene when I stuck a new chassis
on the 88 and failed not too long after. Guessing it didn't like
       getting warm. :banghead

Jack it from underneath. If the Landy starts to lift then strap
it down or get assistants to stand on the bumper or something.
Soak it with loads of penetrant for a few days beforehand
