V8 Exhaust route options - S1-88"

Hello all.
I currently have a side exit exhaust system on my S1, the
silencer is only 10" long and is nowhere near quiet enough.
The system is all welded up, with the right hand pipe routing
over the front of the sump, into a Y piece and then a short run
to the box.
What I would like to know is if it is possible to route the
exhausts to the back while keeping them up inside of the chassis
rails?
Ground clearance is important as it will be used for trialing.
It looks as though it should work, but I am worried about the
effects of overheating around the transmission etc.
I have a rod activated clutch.

maybe no-one has the answer
anyway here goes, the exhaust can go anywhere you like if you
can get it in there but only you can see if it's going to affect
articulation or ground clearance
but for road use it's advised it is side exit to keep the fumes
out of the interior of the landrover

there is no single right answer
you'll need to fabricate something to your own spec
