Next problem...

I did rob my swb for a head, did a midnight head swap on the
109, now the issue is headlights that work, rear lights and
brake lights wont. It is a series 3 ex army 109, any ideas?

Hello Check all your connections especially the earths Mine do
strange things if an earth is loose

You doing to have to work through it logically, testing
Do you have power from the light switch to the rear light loom
connector on the bulkhead?
Do you have power from the connector to the rear body
connections
Do you have power to the bulb holders
D you have an earth circuit from the bulb holder to an earth
point
Same for the brake lights, do you have power to the switch, etc
I think you may have dislodged to the connector from dash to
chassis loom, while doing the engine change as the brakes and
rear lamps are different circuits, different switches etc
Or maybe an issue with the 6 possition switch being a MOD
vehicle, as it tirns various combinations off depending where
its set

This. I find mine can do all sorts of funny things (generally at
MOT time) and I know not why. Running through all the positions
with the ignition on (or with it off, depending on what state it
was initially) generally sorts it.

One of them days... I cannot find my multi meter :( i bled the
brakes on the swb though :) i shall look for me 12v volt meter
with some wires to work with, tomorrow tinker day :)

I could not find the problem, i ended up making a switch bracket
at the brake pedal. A wire spliced in at the side lights,
another from the battery for the brake light switch and to the
rear...it works, so i am happy. Up to the next issue, tub
supports are rotten through so that means the load floor is
hanging on good faith.
