       New Hood Frames

Anybody bought a new set from All Wheel Trim or Paddocks ???
I'm just wondering why people are paying as much or even more
for a second hand set on eBlag ???
Is there something lacking in the fit or quality of the new ones
or are eBay bidders just fucking stupid ???
BTW some robbing cunt has a manky looking sharks tooth rail on
       the 'bay for £65 BIN.
No doubt he/she knows that that is price of a brand new one from
All Wheel Trim, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if some Knob
       buys it.

I've bought several canvas covers for truck cab defenders in the
past from all wheel trim , good quality and fit .
And service second to none as I wanted one quick for billing,
So they got cutting and sewing extra quick for me :smile1

I was fobbed off and let down badly by All Wheel Trim, 3 months
waiting for a truck cab canvas for the 101 and it never showed.
Multiple excuses from the owner. I can't say I've experience of
buying new hoodsticks but based on All Wheel Trim's piss poor
performance I'd be going to Paddocks or Exmoor Trim. Canvas-wise
Undercover Covers made me one that was spot on very quickly -

so they're my first choice. I
don't think they sell the stick sets however.

       Thanks for that Noel.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that all of the hood stick sets
sold in the whole world probably come out of the same workshop.
AWT and Paddocks prices are within a few pounds of each other.
It would be useful if someone in the know could either confirm
or refute myt opinion, before I finally raid my piggy bank.
I wouldn't describe myself as a rivet counter by any means.
But I have an eagle eye for badly made ill fitting shite.
If I'm going to fork out £330 or so I want to know that it's
going to be as good as genuine.
Otherwise I'll be joining the idiots on eBay paying silly money
       for battered old bits.

Aye.. I wouldn't mind knowing either... I have a series III
safari and wouldn't mind going topless for the milder months,
seen 2 sets go on ebay within the last 2 weeks for approx. 270 +
P&P second hand so not much less than new.....

And then you have the people who are convinced that the route to
a cheap tilt frame is to buy it one piece at a time.
Sharks Tooth Rail on eBay £65 (same price as a new one)
Bits over the doors £40 each.
The only advantage that I can see is that it's like paying in
       installments.
Probably going to cost more than buying new TBH

I guess in reality one of us should 'just take the plunge' and
buy one... then if it is poorly made send it back letting the
others know  presently though I'm not volunteering,
just had to spend £300 on the MG and Landrover needs Exhaust /
shocks and spring bushes doing for MOT :banghead

Well looking at the state of my finances I won't be taking the
plunge until next spring at least.
I think I'll try posting the same question on the S2C forums.
They are far more numerous than we, and also many of them seem
to have a great fondness for forking out piles of money on new
       kit.
       Worth a try at least

If you can wait, i would definitely make the effort to go to the
newbury sort out in april, i got a full set of sticks with shark
tooth rail etc for £140 in perfect condition at the last one.
