Hello, does anyone know about the easy shifter? It might be a
handy mod for me, only where to start with modifications and
what is the shopping list going to look like. Pictures and
       schematics welcome.
       Thanks. Landy101fc

       moment.

I had one on one of my trucks - it's now sitting in the garage
waiting to be fitted to one of my projects.
Basically it's a modification to the transfer box, eliminating
the interlock between red and yellow levers and putting them
       both on one lever.

Really useful in snowy conditions or laning as you can shift
from 4x4 High to 4x2 High and back again without stopping when
driving on alternating snow and clear tarmac :smilewide:
You can also change from Hi to Lo4x4 by double-de-clutching in
       the neutral pisition.
I'm not sure it would be an easy job to modify the transfer box
though without the kit of parts - the parts list for the
Easyshifter is quite comprehensive and fitting instructions not
       straightforward :-?
       The full instructions are HERE

       if you want
       top have a look?
       Hope that helps,
       Robin.

good to know but seems like a lot of technology for a simple
       operation

It might be, but in my case i need it.
My 88s3 gets a upgrade so i can use everything with my
disability. I need to bestrapped tight in a harnass to give my
back the stabilisation it needs. Overdrive and easyshifter
controlles need to be at a hight so i can grab them.
They wanted me out of my landy, i don't think so!
Sparewheel goes on the rear, i need to create a carrier and a
side opening tailgate. Solutions a plenty.

Didn't some of the German market models have a side hinged
tailgate fitted by the factory ???
Of course it might be impractical for your needs but just a
       thought.
As for a spare wheel carrier, any competent fabricator should
be able to knock up a swing away jobby relatively quickly and
       cheaply.

I have access to pipe that came from a greenhouse, i can copy
the one that is on the D90, the side opening tailgate can be
made from hard top hinges. After that the vehicle goes for a
name change :) and pioneering tools up the bonnet, defender
       capstan up front.
