Bloody expensive bits

I think most of us accept the need for pattern parts, even if
they are a PITA at times.
I needed a few odds and sods this week to finish off various
bits and pieces.
The little countersunk screws for the adjustable seat rails.
Just £6 each to you sir (L R Direct)
That's £96 to do the vehicle
I got 20 x M6 countersunk off eBay for £1.88.
Stainless too.
Copper washers for the diesel pipes.
£7 each FFS off L R Direct
I've got an assortment of 110 Imperial ones on their way for the
same price.
You expect OE stuff to be a bit dearer, but that's taking the
piss.

Have the same thing at work, I service and repair forktrucks for
a living and any parts I fit during a service have a cost come
out of the revinew that I get for the service, today I need two
lengths of lift chain cost from outside supplier £126.87 from
our stores £798.77 guess which one have to buy.
Kiss good buy to my Christmas bonus.

I've noticed that too FJ. For some reason when Land Rover supply
fixings through the genuine parts network they are often stupid
money. The series military parts catalogues are very useful,
unlike the civvy ones that say "BOLT" or "SET SCREW" they
generally specifiy sizes too.

It does always seem to be the little fiddly things, as you say.
Want a set of genuine rubber mudflaps? That'll be £80, if you
can find some.....
I could do with a new set of trim for part of my [expletive
boingy].... £150 from Land Rover, or I could buy a £10 roll of
stick-on chrome barryboy strip from Halfrauds and repair the
existing one :smiley-furious:
