       Hello from Canada

Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Ian and
after looking for most of the summer bought my first series land
rover- a 74 series iii SWB petrol. Living across the pond we
are a bit limited in choice and must take what we can find, but
this looked to be good for its age, and while waiting weeks and
weeks for it to be shipped cross country, I kept on looking and
of course another land rover came up for sale in my home town
for half the price... Oh well.
Anyway my series 3 arrived and ignoring all of the faults I'd
missed when taking a trip to see her, I took her out to my
friends where it immediately sprang a leak all over his drive
(coolant). I had to laugh and my friend, Martin (another Brit)
saw the funny side of the land rover 'marking' its new
       territory.
It seems one land rover was not enough, however, and from a
simple email for parts to another series owner, I now have
bought another leaf spring rover. A series ii, 1961 (SWB 2.25
petrol) very much in bits as an unfinished project vehicle. At
least I will have one to drive around while the other is in the
process of being put back together. Wish me luck (or better
send me parts) and that winter doesn't come too early or severe
       here on the Prairies.

Thanks. Having lots of fun behind the wheel, now that I'm
finished cleaning, rustproofing and paint the S3's chassis (well
except for the couple of holes I wire-brushed through it
       :2mo5pow:
Now the fun begins with maintenance for -30c winter

Yes, it's meant to be the west, but I think Saskatchewan in
pretty central. Will post some photos tomorrow.
