New electronic tax discs

Anyone with free historic road tax renewed under the new
paperless system yet?
I'm wondering if it's daft enough to make you "pay" the fee of
£0.00
Or is is sensible enough that since you don't need to pay it
does it automatically and you don't need to bother doing
anything?

Mine's due at the end of the month which is why I was asking
what I can expect.
Perhaps I'll be the first to find out then.

Can't see it being any different to doing on line in the past,
you just don't recive a disc in return.
I've renewed on line for the past few years and I've never had
an issue.
I'm just going to order a nice reproduction of it's first issued
disc to put in the corner of the screen, doesn't feel right,
kind of naked, without a disc in the corner of the screen.

So on the basis we no longer have to display a tax disc, I would
like to get a really old one.
Anyone got a legible (not too faded) 1972 tax disc they don't
want?

found one on the the bay. Copied the picture of it, and printed
it on my colour printer.
If I can be arsed I'll photoshop it to put the correct reg no
on it.

You go through the same process but you do not have to enter any
payment method. Additionally, you need to check a box to enable
an email receipt.

I've photo shopped my "tax disc" so it now has the correct
registration number and make.
An interesting point though. Didn't the law change to stop you
showing any "clutter" on your windscreen? So is displaying my
old tax disc breaking the law or not?

Doubt it would be deemed any more clutter than a funny sticker
or something , as long as it doesn't obscure driver's view..
