Brake pipe sizes & threads, master & slave cylinders
       blah blah blah.....

My 88" series 3 which I am slowly rebuilding was built in 1980 -
a time of change according to the parts book.
It was first registered in October 1980, and has the same set up
for both front & rear brakes,(single slave cylinder per wheel
and 10" drums) which was done away with after June 1980
       according to the spares book.
It has dual line brakes and a servo.
Also from the parts book it seems that from July 1980 that 109"
front brakes were used on 88" models, and also from the part
numbers that the previous front 88" wheel cylinders were then
       used on the rear axle.
       Questions please:-
I need to replace the slave cylinders and the brake piping &
flexis. Would the fittings likely to be imperial, metric, any
easy way to tell? Would the threads from the wheel cylinders
themselves remain the same or did they change, and also to/from
the dual circuit (PDWA)? valve and servo etc.
The dual circuit valve also changed part numbers dependent on
chassis number (was this from imperial to metric)? Mine is in
       the earlier batch of numbers.
Everything is off the landy at present so I can take a few pics
       if it would help.
Also, is it a worthwhile upgrade whilst I am at it to upgrade to
a 109" front axle set up, (and use the old front cylinders on
the rears). Is it just a case of a different backplate,
cylinders, shoes and drums, and re-use the existing hubs or is
it more involved? Would the master cylinder need changing as
       well?
As always, help & advice greatly received
       Thanks !

You are right in the middle of change over, my guess is for
imperial. I did find one with both but that could be previous
owner making up to suit parts to hand.

I'd be thinking it would be all imperial, as the change over was
IIRC with the change to then109 spec brakes, so if you don't
have those it will be imperial - I think ...best check though,
       had a few drink(*&
