       Gearbox identification

       Hi all I have a spare gearbox with transfer box and the serial
       number is 90154363 A could anyone help with the identification
       of this? the guy I got it off says it is an all syncro box and
       someone else says not. Thanks!.

       seems like an early series Three gearbox. i ran one for 6 years
       no with no major problems. just decided to fit in a self
       reconned suffix D series 3 box.

       As Joe says it's an early series 3 all syncro box. The suffix
       'A's didn't have a great reputation for reliability, I've had a
       couple that jumped out of gear on overrun, however the Tdi
       lightweight has an 'A' and that's not died yet.
