para bollox springs

do they improove the ride that much.
bin lookin at the rocky mountain set up with shocks £540
but have heard cant use with my milatry shackles
have 265 70 16s on at the mo so need the long shackles what say
you.
ps still after a 4203 perky

I've got para's on military hangers went on fine, admittedly
she's not running yet so I don't know what the handling is like.
The springs came from M&M so god knows what make they are, but
GB Springs are worth a look.

m and m sounds like a club for gay folk
dont think theres much in price with any of um the rocky
mountain ones are rated fuckin shock make it dear

I'm with Snailer on that one. M&M 4x4 are Worcester way, only
used them a few times, seems reasonably reliable.

Have a look at GB Spring before you decide...direct from the
makers in Coventry...used to be called British Springs...had
they on my 88 for 10 years...still as good as new and very good
prices and very helpful on the phone,
Not as good a ride as a coil sprung Landrover...but so so much
better than old style springs and no maintenance.

thanks boys o i mean that the pro com 9000 shocks make the whole
thing expensive to do.
would not be so bad if it were just replacing the springs
without buying new shocks

The ones I got was a kit, springs and dampers ( pro comp
9000's). Was told that it's not advisable to use standard
dampers with para's as they will over heat. Also if you are
using military hangers they probably won't be long enough.

I have standard shocks on the front to keep the ride soft. Only
have pro comp on the rear due the increased articulation.
I would be very surprised if you could overheat a shocker in the
UK let alone with a leaf sprung vehicle. Just my opinion.

I believe the argument against standard shocks is that they only
damp in one direction as a multi-leaf spring is self-damping in
the other. A parabolic allegedly needs damping both ways. I've
got the cheapest pro-comps on the 88 and they've been on 8 years
or so. They've gone rusty and look a bit shit but still work.
