Series 3 200 tdi conversion

I need to stop the kangarooing on uneven road surface due to my
throttle being directly ling via rod. I had wondered if I
fitted a return spring it would dampen the action but not
convinced by my methodology.
I have also noted that some use a cable instead. If so this is
the path that might be more beneficial, I would like to know
exactly what parts are needed and how I go about attaching the
cable etc.
Anyone help?

When I get back to blighty I'll post some picks of how it's set
up on my Tdi'd lightweight. The cable is attached to the
original rod, I didn't convert it but it's one of the few parts
on the rather iffy conversion that seems to work OK.

I made a small bracket which bolt to holes already in the
passenger foot well, standard disco cable attached to injector
pump and throttle linkage

On mine all the linkages and rods were binned and a shortened
bicycle brake cable fitted onto a stump from the pedal end. It's
a bodge but it's a bodge that's worked for 7 years so far.

Here are some pics of mine on the Lightweight, it's not neat but
I didn't do it, the POs handiwork. I can't say for sure but
pretty much everything is ex-Disco and bodged to fit so I'd
assume this is the standard Disco cable routed across the engine
to join the original petrol linkage.
