What does "One Shot" look like?

Changed the oil seal on my steering box.
No oil in there.
A sort of grey brown gel.
Looked/smelled sort of newish not old and rotten.
I'm suspecting this is the stuff they sell to bodge up leaky
swivel housings for people who are too tight to buy new chrome
spheres.
Being a resourceful type, I scooped it all out into a bowl,
did the seal, and scooped it all back in and put the cover back
on.
Now I'm wondering if it's going to do any harm leaving it in
there ???

One Shot is black in colour and has the consistency of double
cream and just as difficult to wipe off.
Your steering box contents certainly isn't One Shot, up to you
what you do but I'd be keen to replace it with the correct
lubricant.

I would guess that due to the leak somebody has put in one shot
or their own mix of grease and EP90. One shot is like if you
mixed grease and EP90, if you have done the seal I would try
EP90, if it leaks fill it with one shot it is not like its a
gearbox where things are spinning at high speed it will be fine.

It's gonna stay in there until the MOT is out of the way.
Steering seems fine - no play or stiffness in the box, so I'm
working on the "if it ain't busted" principle.
After the MOT I'll scoop the gloop out and try EP90.
IIRC early Transit vans had a "dry" steering box ie grease not
oil.
Just wondering what sort of grease it would be?
Probably thinner than the stuff I use on nuts and bolts?
