       water temp

       could someone tell me how high the water temp on a rover v8 on
       su carbs  sould be before the fan will start,i have just put an
       electric fan on my series 2a and I don't want it running to
       hot.thanks

       Mine has a Kenlow thermostat fitted.  It doesn't show  degrees
       just    Cold Normal & Hot with four divisions  in between.  Mine
       has always been set on two divisions above Normal and kicks in
       about 15 mins    running stationary from cold.    From memory
       the engine thermostat  is 85°  so you really wouldn't want to go
       more than  90°  for the fan thermostat.

       Just checked  - according to  Rimmers  the  V8 thermostat for
       temperate climates  is  82°  -  so  the fan should come in at
       87° tops.
