A decent Land Rover spares place near to Middleton, Manchester?
I need a new clutch master cylinder for the beastie. It's
currently sat there looking all forlorn and hasn't moved since
we did the 11 round trips from Thornhill to Middleton, without
any proper investigating why it was getting harder and harder to
get in and out of gear...I only noticed a bit of fluid running
down the pedal a few days ago and got '4' as an answer to the
well known mathematical question.
I have a replacement gearbox which I intend to fit later on when
I get some time, but I don't think the one fitted is that bad
apart from being leakier than a sieve and having no method for
putting oil back in without stripping half the truck down.
However I am wondering if a combination of that gearbox and
possibly a tight wheel bearing might have caused the extreme
slowness on the M62 etc.

Hmmm. I was hoping there'd be someone closer. Ta though,
appreciated.
The thing is, I could just order one online but wherever I look
they list a brake master cylinder (under the clutch section of
their site) and no clutch master cylinder, which puts me off
somewhat in trusting them. These appear to have exactly the same
issue on their site. This is why I prefer face to face, and if
I'm going to drive all that way I may as well go see Ray at 4x41
in Horbury Bridge. At least I'll get to take the piss out of him
and throw suspension bushes for his dog.
