Thought I would update the thread, as seen as it has been a
while.
Well we took it for an MoT and it failed, fuel leak, chassis
hole & hub seal. Well the hub seal(s) got replaced and with the
fuel tank, it gave us opportunity to change over to proper
manly under seat fill tank. The hole in the chassis was more
of major proportions that stretched from the rear of front
spring to front of rear spring, but it's patched for now, going
to invest in a new chassis in the next couple of years...
Anyhoo some pics:
Manly tank

Which meant I had to fabricate some lids as seen as a PO had
plated over the complete seatbox with a nice big size of 2mm ali

I ended up make them out of some steel with some polyurethane
substance on the back.
Plated up the 'filler hole' with some ali for now, then a quick
skim of filler over the top. Not too keen on the job, but will
do for now:

After I put in an underseat tank, it meant that it kicked me
into changing the gay seats over to some proper Lightweight
ones:

Which also meant a more manly steering wheel could be fitted!
I also ended up fabricating some door mirror mounts, due to me
remembering why I hate wing mounted mirrors:

And we also fitted a shelf, which consists of a strip of 1mm
ali so we can mount the stereo, speakers and CB!

HTML http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p309/stumgoo/Daisy/b78e9000.jpg[/img]
And it's had a bonnet transplant :)

Still got to change all the clocks back to original, I have
most of the stuff to enable me to change it over. I just have
to have some time in my calender for me to be able to do it!

Had a few days fettling, put the door check straps on, which
was a bit more of a faff than I would have thought. And had a
looksy at the wiring, removing some of the redundant stuff but
also for a looksy of what I've got to do:
Sweet!

Then thought I would cheer myself up by fitting the underseat
storage, also known as old converted tank. I don't think I
need a second tank (did I mention I was getting 40mpg?).
However I liked the idea of it looking like I had still had a
second from the outside, also it keeps good storage for the
hitches and stuff!

Brakes, brakes and brakes have been varying problems and
hopefully and finally I've got the bloody things sorted.
I've rebuilt the master cylinder, I've changed all the shoes,
I've changed all the drums, I ended up changing the cylinders
on the passenger side I inadvertently put the wrong size pipe on
the front brake circuit between the the master cylinder and the
PDWA valve :haha:
This still never solved the problem I was having, which was
that the fluid in the master cylinder was moving from the back
circuit to the front circuit, and sometimes pissed all over the
place.
I finally thought that I would bite the bullet, replace the
PDWA valve, replace the pipe that I did in the wrong bore
between the master cylinder and the PDWA valve and also the
drivers side cylinders. Then I thought that all hydraulic items
would then be replaced and thus in reality that the brake system
has been completely revamped - Here's hoping, we've bled it off
and adjusted the brakes. We haven't taken it for a spin yet, as
we had enough, and were getting quite peckish!
Anyhoo, this was probably adding to the problem: Front
cylinder on the back!

See how we get on with a spin out tomorrow.

Been having a play round the last couple of days, keeping
myself busy inbetween hospital visits. Just doing a few things
that I've been meaning to get round to as of late, theory is
that stuff gets fitted = tick in box and stuff out of the
garage, so without further waffle, first on was catflap (which
I have renamed to dog flap)

I know there a PITA however the theory is that the lightweight
tailgate would suit the lightweight bottom and the dogflap would
suit the land rover top.
