Grinding and welding, lovely. Good stuff Stuey. What's going on
       with the fuel tank?

The fuel tank was used as under seat storage, I think that the
previous owner made more work for himself by constructing some
crazy access hole. The thing has more holier than the Pope
though and is only going to get exchanged for some beer tokens
the next time I visit the scrapman.
Somebody has kindly offered a leaky 'clamshell' style tank lined
up, that will get converted to another underseat storage area,
so externally it will look like it still has twin tanks.

Diasy is cute, but Daisy also needs some TLC. Stuey loves taking
care of Daisy, not? Daisy will look like a 16 year old after
Stuey's cosmetic surgery with iron botox.
Please get rid of the fugly color. Tends to gayish.

Making good progress there mate ......i know it's a bit extreme
using an an angle grinder to remove the carpet BUT it's working
       ;)
Be much better when the A panels are replaced with proper LWT
       ones .
Before i forget sling me a PM with the Mels parents address so
we can sort delivery ;) 8)

Looking good and nice progress on the bulkhead and footwells.
I seem to remember someone saying there are more recesses and
"lips" hidyholes for mud and water to collect and sit on a lwt,
is that the case? If so it will keep you busy chasing the rust
       worm.

I don't think so really, no more rustier than any other mid
       70's neglected rover!
Most of the problems that I seem to be coming up against, less
the chassis, is due to the carpet and matting soaking water
like a sponge, and probably that bad metal has been plated over
with good metal rather than cutting out bad and replacing, thus
       creating a watertrap.

i have never seen a motor with as much carpet as that, if it was
an exposed surface the guy covered it in foam and ax-minster,
quite a fetish i think he had.

An update from the last few days activities:
Well I had Thursday and Friday off which proved to be a bit of a
bonus having not finished until gone 9 last night, in fact the
only time I did finish before 9 on any night was Saturday and
that was due to the Stalybridge bash. I set off at 10 last
night and got to Dorzet just before 3 this morning, not a bad
run as seen as it takes me about 4 hours in the Polo. Stopped
twice to fill up, not that I needed it just wanted to calculate
how good the MPG was, however on my first fill up I did have to
do a bit of spannering to get the brake switch sorted (replaced
Saturday, obviously not adjusted quite right). Well I'm
getting about 38 MPG out of it, taking into account that the
speedo / odometer is reading about 10% under so I is well happy
with that and I don't even have an overdrive on it yet.
Thanks to Gadget for helping me out through most of it and sorry
Lesley for keeping him so long, it's all for a worthy cause!
       Anway some pics!
       Something missing?

That's better (for now) Thanks Icey (and Lucy!)

Got a bit forgetful in taking the pics, then decided I had
enough of Land Rovering in the garage and took it inside:

A bit of stripped down action, we found enough Oasis (yes that
stuff you put plants in that retains water better than a jonny)
behind all the panels to keep the WI going for a fair few years

Back together! (well on the outside anyway) Looking a bit more
multi-coloured, but a bit more hetero!

Next weekend finishing off a few bits then starting the paint
       job!
