       Proper springs?
By: Dave Date: July 16, 2014, 2:23 am

This has, no doubt, been asked and discussed before but I won't
have taken any notice cos I wouldn't have been interested then
       but...
Where can I buy a set of new, good quality, proper multi-leaf
springs? I've grown tired of the bouncy ride of parabolics and
they way they sag and chew their way through bushes so I'm
thinking of putting my suspension back as god intended.

These people make springs for Locomotives so they must be good!

       Dave.
Try Simon Services on 01924 220882.
He's local and usually has them in stock. I got a pare of
fronts for mine, cheaper than on line.
A nice bloke to deal with, unlike some of the rip off
       merchants in the area.

       are they any good?

I can't remember the make Dave, but, they have been on over
two years and still behave as they did
when first fitted. no sag at all. My rears, original fitment,
are really flat and will be replaced later this year.
       (advisory on mot).
Give Simon a call, he will tell you the make etc.

I've used Brigg Motor Springs for mine, and my stage 1
Family have used them for probably 30yrs for commercial vehicle
springs - can't think when we have ever had a problem

Dave, Just to throw into the mix, Teri Ann’s website says about
putting thin plastic between leafs to increase movement from
multi-leaf springs, this would give the strength of multi leafs
but a smoother ride (though not bouncy like paras) , since I
know how much you love land rover maintenance and general land
rover related jobs, perhaps that might be something you would
like to do?, once you get some multi-leafs that is
