I've got a crack in my exhaust manifold.
I've looked at replacements and they range from £25 in Craddocks
to £300ish at ACR ... apart from the obvious, you pays yer money
debate ... what should I be looking for in a new exhaust
manifold?

It might help if you stated which engine you got.
If it's the two and a quarter petrol in standard tune, I'd just
fit a good used standard manifold with new good quality studs
fitted.

I fitted the cheapie to my 2.25P and I can't find any problems
with it.

Whereabouts are you? I think I've got a spare in the garage you
could have.

I've got a 2.25 petrol with the original cylinder head on it.
I'm near Bedford.

If you're passing Derby at any point you're welcome to the one
I've got. It'll just need one new stud

The ACR manifold is, quite frankly, shite. I have one on the 88
as it came with a load of other ACR bits I got so I figured I
may as well fit it. Wish I'd never bothered, the clearance is so
tight to a spring bolt nut that no matter how much fannying
about our fitters did with the oxy they couldn't position it so
contact with the nut could be avoided. Plus it has rusted like
mad and probably only has a year or two's life left in it. Save
your money and go for a standard one is my advice.
