rare gearlever?

Hi Guys, this is a wierd one... had difficulty changing gear on
my 1973 2.25 petrol 88 safari. stripped it down and glad to see
that it is only the rubber grommet around the gear stick end
thats broken ;D.
though it would be an easy fix , but when I phoned Paddocks for
the part they were stumped, they looked through all their
records for long and short wheel base, 4 and 6 pot, but could
find nothing that matched!
a picture is attached, anybody got an idea where to get the
green grommet?
( trying to put an image in, but all it does is put img][/img
[img][/img] :WTF
so back to words ???
the end of the lever where it fits in the selectors is shaped
like an old fashioned cotton reel, and a very thick green
plastic grommet fits over this to cushion the lever so you dont
get metal to metal contact)
image is put in my gallery, only way I could find to get it on
here :(

In bewteeen the 2 tags is where you paste the internet address
of the picture you wish to post.. You need to put the pic
elsewhere on the net (facebook, photobucket etc)

Whilst trying to cure my rattling gearstick came across a
gearstick of that design and fitted it and it works great.
The bush on mine was black and quite hard could not see how you
could replace it.
Tried searching parts book but could not find any reference to
it.

Think that's just a standard replacement lever from about 10-15
years ago. I got an identical one from Landranger back then and
there was certainly nothing rare or special about it - they had
plenty!
