It was advertised as a series 2a, I rekon it's a series 3 with a
modified 2 grill? I've no clue but I hope you have, someone
tell me what I've bought please....cheers

The bulkhead windscreen mounts are 2/2a type but more photos of
the interior would help.
Do you have any more photos? And more importantly, before
parting with any cash have you seen the V5C? SSM 841T isn't
recognised on the DVLA lookup (at least not as LAND ROVER,
ROVER, LEYLAND or LEYLAND CARS).

Thanks for pointing that out, It's been booked in for an IVA
test on the 21st of this month as It's had a new chassis and
engine swap to 2.5d. No more pics as yet still trying to arrange
collection as it's not road legal yet.

but yes I've seen the V5, and a load of other paperwork to back
it up, seller says it's been a nightmare for the DVLA side but
rekons the IVA will sort it out for good.
what the worst that could happen? Q plate?

It's intriguing in so far as why it's on the DVLA's radar and
why they've asked for an IVA. A new chassis and engine swap
won't cause that to happen unless the chassis wasn't new but had
previously been fitted to another vehicle, i.e. has an identity
already. As to what they can do I'm not sure. A Q plate can be
assigned for vehicles of indeterminate age but if they find a
problem with a used chassis identity I guess they can order it
to be destroyed. Not sure on that.

Yes it was a used chassis which was fitted from another vehicle,
and an engine swap at the same time, the owner has been right
through the mill with the DVLA, they want an IVA done before
they will issue a valid reg no. I've no real concerns with this
at the moment, i'm 100% all is above board as the paperwork and
correspondence from the DVLA is all there. Test is on the 21st.
It's arriving today and I'm buzzing :smilewide:
I'll get some better pics up then....
expect lots of newbie questions!

Nice looking motor. Shame about that nasty looking lump of steel
hanging on the front bumper. Happy to take it off your hands for
a reasonable price !!!

What's the options for getting rid of the plastic light
surrounds then, I'm not a fan of them either.
Ahh the winch, had a quick look around it tonight, new steel
rope came with it. Can you shed any light on which type of winch
it is as I'd like to try and figure out how it works...and how
to maintain it.
