For those of me that knew me back in the day you will no doubt
       recognise Pheebs.. She's a 1982 Series 3 2.25 petrol and is
built on a TACR Chassis. She served with Gwent Fire Brigade
until 1996. She's still a project despite looking OK.. but I get
out and about in her from time to time. (Gets some odd looks
when I do the shopping in her mind)
Recently she's had a complete engine rebuild (under warranty)
because in the previous engine rebuild they used a crankshat
(not a crankshaft) out of a blue box, that cracked, send piston
one into freewheel and ended up in tiny bits in the sump...
The winch is ex Fentiger.. Cheers.

She was, but then I bought a bigger leafer so had to come up
with new names - apparently NeeNaw 1 and NeeNaw 2 were too
       confusing..

A bigger leafer that could have a NeeNaw moniker? Sounds
       interesting.

       Wavey,
       I too reside in Darlington.
What else may I have seen you driving around in?
The only leafers I have clapped eyes on are a green series 2
soft top that I exchanged thumbs up with a couple of weeks back,
or a red SWB I saw as it drove past me near the train station on
       Saturday gone.
I am in a green S3 SWB with a roof rack.
       S

Ah yes it's had a rebuilt 2 1/4 5mb petrol put into it iirc.
Nice old bus though and very tidy

Thanks, She will look better when I finally get round to doing
the paint job, because its properly crazed (maybe a bit like me)
and fades back to pink far too quickly for my liking, especially
       around the bulkhead.

Unfortunately my general run around leafer went last year (a
scabby SWB Series 3 in Green & Limestone) I now have to drive a
proper car for work and family. You may have seen me nipping
around in the bigger leafer/NeeNaw 2 - Called Muppet.

I haven't seen that about, although I am not often driving
around the town so that probably explains it.
       Lovely old buses anyway mate

I used to drive one of them old Dennis fire engines when I was
on the retained fire station at work. We then upgraded to an ERF
(BJA 999L iirc). Great machine but bugger me could have done
with power steering or maybe I am just a bit :handbag
